Snow on the peaks, candles in the windows and somewhere warm to come back to. H&M HOME’s Holiday 2026 collection packs the mountain-cabin Christmas into cushions, candlelight and matching pyjamas, and it lands on 22nd October.
There’s a particular feeling to stepping inside after a cold, bright day: boots kicked off, cheeks stinging, the room already lit and smelling of something spiced. H&M HOME has built its entire festive collection around that moment. The brief this year is a winter escape to the mountains, a cabin shared with family and friends, where old traditions sit comfortably alongside clean Scandinavian design.
The result is a collection that covers the whole house, from the tree to the breakfast table to the bed, and it’s designed to work together. Think tactile fabrics, a palette of soft neutrals cut through with holiday red and deep evergreen, and the odd nod to après-ski for good measure.
Nostalgic, but not twee
The thinking behind it is less about perfect Christmas styling and more about how the season actually feels. Evelina Kravaev-Söderberg, Head of Design & Creative at H&M HOME, describes modern traditions as being “all about creating moments that feel personal and meaningful”, and says the team set out to capture the warmth of coming in from the cold, the glow of candlelight and the joy of gathering with the people you love. Her summary of the collection, nostalgic yet contemporary, is a fair one: it borrows from the Christmases we remember without tipping into kitsch.

Lighting for the four o’clock dark
In a British December, when the light is gone by teatime, this is the part of the collection that will earn its keep. Lighting is layered rather than overhead: sculptural candle holders, lanterns and portable lamps you can move from the dining table to the bedside as the evening goes on. Pair them with the collection’s candles, which lean woody, spicy and a little nostalgic, the kind of scent that takes you straight back to childhood Christmases.

Textures you want to sink into
The textiles borrow from mountain life: faux fur, vintage-style linen, brushed cotton and quilting. Cushions, throws and curtains come in shifting neutrals, classic holiday reds and evergreen, finished with contrast piping and embroidered text details. The après-ski references are subtle enough to live on your sofa well past January, which is exactly what you want from a seasonal buy.

A tree with a story to tell
Decorations take their cue from snowy landscapes, ski culture and old-fashioned winter traditions. Expect glossy glass baubles, shiny metal accents and paper decorations alongside playful figurines: little trains, festive sweets and nature-inspired motifs. It’s a tree that looks collected over years rather than bought in one go, and plenty of the pieces would work on a mantelpiece or wreath too.

Slow holiday mornings
Breakfast is treated as a ritual in its own right. Picture freshly baked bread, a pot of coffee and the scent of cinnamon and citrus, served on new mugs, elegant breakfast trays and dinnerware in a rich merlot shade. Add a candle or two on a dark morning and the table feels festive without anyone having to cook a three-course lunch.

The bedroom, made for lingering
Upstairs, it’s all about comfort. Soft flannel bedding, mini-check prints and quilted bedspreads set the tone, with coordinating loungewear to match. The headline for many will be the family pyjamas, available for adults, children and babies, so the Christmas morning photo is sorted before you’ve even opened a present.

Get the cabin look at home
- Layer your light. Switch off the big light and use three or four smaller sources at different heights: a lantern on the floor, candles on the table, a portable lamp on a shelf.
- Mix one bold colour with neutrals. Pick either holiday red or evergreen and let it run through cushions, a throw and a few decorations against a calm, natural base.
- Go heavy on texture. Faux fur, quilting and brushed cotton together make a room feel warmer, even when the palette stays simple.
- Make breakfast an occasion. A tray, a good mug and a single candle turn an ordinary December morning into something to look forward to.
