JISOO Finds Her Spark in “CLICK”: A Forgotten Theme Park, a Robot Bear and the Start of a New Solo Era

The BLACKPINK star’s romantic latest single arrives with a Joseph Kahn–directed fairytale about loneliness, repair and the people who reach back.

There’s a particular kind of magic in a theme park after closing time. The rides fall silent, the lights dim, and the whole place seems to be holding its breath, waiting for someone to bring it back to life. It’s exactly that atmosphere JISOO steps into for “CLICK”, the romantic pop single that marks the beginning of a brand-new chapter in her solo career.

Released via Warner Records, “CLICK” is a song about one of life’s harder-to-explain moments: when two people from completely different worlds meet, and everything simply falls into place. No logic, no checklist, just the quiet certainty that something fits.

A Cyborg, a Bear and an Empty Park

If the song is about connection, the music video is about what life looks like before it arrives. Directed by Joseph Kahn, the filmmaker behind era-defining videos for Taylor Swift, Britney Spears and Eminem, the cinematic visual casts JISOO as the last sentient cyborg in a theme park the world has forgotten.

She carries on regardless, tearing tickets for visitors who never come and sweeping pathways nobody walks. It’s a striking image of solitude, and Kahn leans into the eeriness with dim industrial corridors, flickering fluorescent tubes and rusting machinery.

Then she finds him: a damaged robotic teddy bear. JISOO carefully nurses him back to life, and together the unlikely pair set about reawakening the park, rousing a whole community of abandoned toys until the empty world is full of movement, music and connection once more.

Why the CLICK Bear Matters

The glowing-eyed bear, which also takes pride of place on the single’s cover art, is far more than a cute co-star. According to the release, he represents JISOO’s fans: people from different countries, speaking different languages and living different lives, who have stayed by her side throughout her career.

It’s a thoughtful framing. One side reaches out, the other reaches back, and when they meet, the connection is made. For an artist whose fanbase spans the globe, it’s a fitting tribute, and it gives the video an emotional weight that goes beyond a straightforward love song.

Dressing the Last Cyborg Standing

One of the costumes deserves its own moment. It sits somewhere between a porcelain doll and a theme-park attendant, which is exactly what the character is.

Look closer, and that “lace” isn’t lace at all. The custom piece is the work of London-based designer Karina Bond, from her Spring/Summer 2026 collection, The Midnight Sun, and it wasn’t sewn from fabric. Instead, Bond hand-drew the entire structure with a 3D printing pen, tracing the intricate pattern line by line directly over a mannequin and building it up layer by layer until it set into a rigid, couture-like form.

It’s a perfect fit for the story. A garment that looks as fragile as antique lace but is engineered rather than stitched is about as close as fashion gets to a cyborg with a heart, and it gives JISOO’s character a handmade delicacy that softens the machine.

A Remarkable Year On and Off Stage

“CLICK” lands at the tail end of a hugely busy stretch for JISOO. She was V Magazine’s May cover star, where she spoke about her forthcoming album, and she starred in the Netflix romantic comedy series Boyfriend on Demand.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK completed their arena-filling Deadline World Tour in January before releasing the record-breaking DEADLINE EP earlier this year. JISOO has also sat down with Billboard to talk about her multidisciplinary year and where her music is heading next.

Her new solo era was first teased with “EYES CLOSED”, her collaboration with ZAYN. The track became her second solo release to break into the Top 10 of the Billboard Global Excl. US chart, also reaching No. 20 on the Global 200 and No. 72 on the Hot 100. That last milestone carried extra significance: it made BLACKPINK the first girl group to have every member chart on the Hot 100 as a solo artist.

“EYES CLOSED” picked up an iHeartRadio Music Awards nomination for Favourite K-Pop Collaboration, and its video was nominated for Best Visual Effects at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards. JISOO was also nominated for Best K-Pop as part of BLACKPINK for “JUMP”. Neither nomination converted on the night, with BTS taking Best K-Pop for “Swim”, but it was still a historic evening for the group: bandmate LISA won Best Pop for “Dream” featuring Kentaro Sakaguchi, becoming the first Asian solo artist ever to win the category.

From ME to AMORTAGE

“CLICK” builds on a solo catalogue that has been breaking records since 2023. Her debut EP, ME, became the first album by a female solo artist in South Korea to pass one million sales. Its lead single, “꽃(FLOWER)”, climbed to No. 2 on the Billboard Global 200 and No. 1 on the Global Excl. US chart, while its video posted the biggest 24-hour viewing figures of any K-pop music video released that year.

She followed it in 2025 with her debut mini album AMORTAGE, a four-track project whose title blends “amor” and “montage”. Featuring “earthquake” and “Your Love”, it traced the emotional stages of love and debuted at No. 1 on South Korea’s albums chart. “CLICK” feels like a natural next step: less a montage of love’s ups and downs, more a single, luminous moment of recognition.

Fashion, Film and Pokémon

JISOO’s influence stretches well beyond the charts. She is a global ambassador for Dior, Cartier, Dyson, Tommy Hilfiger and Salomon, and became the face of ALO Yoga in 2024. This year alone she has launched collaborations with Hello Kitty and Pokémon and made her much-anticipated Met Gala debut.

With “CLICK”, she brings all of that cultural reach back to something simple: music, memory and the connections we carry with us wherever we go. As the release puts it, the two sides “were made to fit”.
