Autumn makeup tends to go one of two ways. There’s the warm, softly polished face that suits knitwear and cold mornings. Then there’s the bolder version that comes out once the evenings draw in and the party invitations arrive. H&M Beauty’s Autumn 2026 collection doesn’t make you choose between them.
The collection is built around what H&M calls your “Autumn Alter-Ego”: the idea that the same small kit can take you from understated to statement. The colours are matte berries and luminous browns for daytime, with shimmering greens and metallic silvers when you want drama. The textures run from velvet powder to cream to glitter, and every product in the range is vegan.
Here’s how to wear both sides.
Alter-Ego One: Warm and Sophisticated
This is your everyday autumn face, polished but soft enough for the office, the school run or a long lunch.
Start with cheeks. The Blush Mode Trio Palette is the workhorse of the collection. It holds three finishes in one compact: a velvet powder, a natural matte cream and a luminous shimmer cream. For daytime, tap the matte cream onto the apples of your cheeks with your fingertips and blend upwards. Cream blush applied before powder gives the most natural, skin-like flush.
Keep eyes soft but defined. The Eye Shadow Quad in Rose Remedy pairs matte and shimmer shades that blend easily into one another. Sweep the lightest matte across the lid and press a deeper shade into the crease for gentle definition. Then add a touch of shimmer to the centre of the lid to catch the light.
Finish with a wash of colour. The Gloss Lip Tint gives sheer, glossy colour without the stickiness of a traditional gloss. Its hydrating formula also stains the lips, so the colour lingers after the shine wears off. That matters when you’re reapplying between meetings or over a coffee. Soft Toffee and Creamy Peony suit this look.

Alter-Ego Two: Bold and Unexpected
When the evening calls for more, you don’t need to start again. Build on the base you already have.
Make the eyes the statement. The Eye Scene Duo Palette captures the alter-ego idea most clearly. Each duo pairs a smooth satin shade with a sparkling glitter topper, so one compact gives you two moods. Wear the satin alone by day, then press the glitter over the top at night. Fingertips work better than a brush for glitter, because they deposit more sparkle with less fallout. Metallic Forest is the duo for anyone drawn to the season’s greens and silvers. Velvet Drama and Desert Spark offer alternative routes.
Prefer to stay in the quad? Cool Intentions is the cooler counterpart to Rose Remedy, and its shimmer shades can be built up for a more dramatic eye.
Turn up the glow. Go back to the Blush Mode Trio and add the luminous shimmer cream along the tops of your cheekbones. Layer the velvet powder over the matte cream for deeper, longer-lasting colour.
Define the lips. The Plumping Lip Liner is creamy and highly pigmented. It shapes the lips while making them look fuller, and gives a gentle tingle as you apply it. It doesn’t feather or bleed, so it’s the one to trust on a night out. Line and fill with Dragon Fruit, then top with Pink Dilemma Gloss Lip Tint for a fuller, glossier lip.
