Curtain up. H&M Studio's Holiday 2026 collection takes its cue from the velvet-draped opera houses and candlelit salons of early 1900s Paris, and it makes for the most theatrical party season the label has staged in years.
Picture Paris at the turn of the last century, a city obsessed with spectacle and finding new freedom in silhouette and colour. That is the world H&M Studio has stepped into for Holiday 2026. Sharp tailoring gives way to sweeping volume, and pared-back minimalism sits alongside the lightest touch of embellishment.
Everything here seems to move. Skirts swing, proportions grow and shrink, and even the quietest knit carries a sense of motion, as though it were made for the dance floor rather than the rail.

"We kept coming back to Paris at the start of the last century – the fascination with spectacle, a city finding freedom in silhouette and colour," says Kathrin Deutsch, H&M Studio Collection Designer. "We wanted the clothes to hold that same energy."
Tailoring, then volume
The outerwear makes an entrance. A black double-breasted wool coat flares into a dramatic A-line, finished with dark blue satin cuffs and draping at the back, so it is made to be watched as you leave. An ivory reversible shearling jacket with a tie belt brings softer, after-party glamour. A black tuxedo blazer with a stand collar and satin back keeps things sharp.

Below the waist, it's all about shape. Balloon-leg trousers with a peplum billow and taper. Wide-leg tuxedo trousers with side zips cut a long, clean line, and a skirt with a high-low hem and embroidery swings with every stride.
The drama peaks
The dresses are where the curtain truly rises. A deep scarlet jersey gown flares at the hem and reveals an open O-back. It's the kind of red that needs nothing but a swept-back chignon.

A dark chocolate brown gown pairs a deep scoop-neck jersey top with a full taffeta skirt, which is opera-box glamour if ever we saw it. A black tulip-hem dress is draped with contrast satin at the shoulders. Then, for a graphic full stop after all that volume, there's a fitted black mini dress. Wear it with over-the-knee boots and you're done.

Texture and ease
The daytime pieces carry the sense of performance too. A white cotton poplin shirt gets a peplum flourish, and a cream chunky cable-knit jumper brings easy, morning-after comfort. The fabrics are as directional as the shapes. Brushed wool, supple leather and plush shearling meet fine-gauge knits, soft satin and fluid viscose, while bouclé and raw edges keep things from feeling too perfect.

"The volume is dramatic, but nothing feels too polished or precious," Deutsch says. "It's about dressing as transformation."
The finishing touches
Accessories complete the story. There are over-the-knee leather boots, satin ballet flats lined with faux fur for dancing until dawn, and a soft shoulder bag with a velvet rope handle and tassel. The jewellery is properly opulent: chandelier earrings, a woven necklace with a tasselled pendant, and sculptural swan-shaped earrings that feel made for a night at the ballet.
