Primark Unveils The Edit AW26 – And Confirms Home Delivery Is Coming to Britain

Autumn/winter has well and truly landed at Primark, and this season the retailer is giving shoppers two reasons to pay attention. The first is The Edit, its premium own-label collection, back with a new capsule of elevated wardrobe staples. The second is far bigger news for the brand as a whole: after years of resisting full ecommerce, Primark has confirmed it will bring home delivery to stores across Great Britain.

The Edit AW26: transitional dressing done properly

Anyone who’s tried to dress for a British autumn knows the problem — one day calls for linen, the next for a coat you thought you’d packed away. Primark’s answer is The Edit, its premium line built on cashmere and wool blends, cotton, and considered tailoring that sits somewhere between capsule wardrobe and comfort-first layering.

This season’s knitwear leads the way, with cashmere and wool blends taking centre stage. Look out for crew neck jumpers in Luminous Blue — tipped as WGSN’s colour of 2027 — alongside grey marl half-zip styles offering a fresh alternative to autumn/winter’s usual charcoal palette, styled with wide-leg tailored trousers and loafers.

Co-ords also get a moment, from taupe tailored suiting built for both the office and off-duty styling, to soft-touch loungewear sets in rich chocolate-brown tones with funnel-neck detailing — proof that comfort and polish aren’t mutually exclusive this season. Nightwear and lingerie round out the range, from satin lace styles to fuss-free pyjama sets, all designed to bring the same attention to detail to the wind-down wardrobe.

The Edit is available in stores, online and via the Primark app, with Click & Collect free to use above a minimum spend.

Home delivery is coming to Great Britain

The bigger headline, though, is the shift in how customers will be able to shop with Primark at all. The retailer — long known as one of the UK high street’s most stubborn ecommerce holdouts — has confirmed plans to launch home delivery in Great Britain, marking one of the most closely watched reversals in UK retail.

The announcement came as part of a wider trading update from parent company Associated British Foods, which also revealed that Primark has bought a highly automated fulfilment facility in Sheffield to support the new service. No launch date, delivery pricing or details of which product ranges will be included has been confirmed yet.

Commenting on the news, a Primark spokesperson said the decision reflects how much has changed in the way people expect to shop:

“A lot has changed in online retail in recent years – from how customers want to shop and their expectations on the proposition. At the same time, the progress we’ve made digitally, especially the success of Click & Collect, has given us confidence that the time is right. Our stores will always be at the heart of Primark, today’s news is about giving customers even more choice in how they shop with us, another exciting way we’re growing Primark.”

Home delivery will run alongside Primark’s store network rather than replace it, building on the Click & Collect service the retailer launched in 2022 and its first mobile app, which arrived earlier this year. For a business built around ultra-low prices and tight margins, the move also brings new costs — not least handling online returns for the first time — but it signals real confidence in the digital groundwork Primark has laid over the past few years.

Whether it’s stocking up on The Edit’s new-season knits or waiting for that first home delivery order to land on the doorstep, one thing looks certain: Primark’s relationship with its customers is changing shape, even as its stores remain the heart of the business.
