Tasha Ghouri x NEXT: The October Edit Is Autumn Dressing With Its Sleeves Rolled Up

Leopard faux fur, buttery suede, a properly good kilt and denim you’ll live in — Tasha Ghouri’s latest NEXT collection is 22 pieces of hard-working autumn wardrobe, with a few showstoppers thrown in for good measure.

There’s a particular kind of October outfit that works from the school run to Saturday night with nothing more than a change of shoes. It’s the outfit most of us are chasing all autumn, and it’s exactly where Tasha Ghouri’s new edit for NEXT lands.

The collection is the latest chapter in a partnership that now runs right through the calendar. Tasha’s first NEXT drop was partywear last winter, all sequins and sparkle for the festive season. Spring brought transitional pieces for the new year, summer delivered holiday staples, and now autumn arrives with something more grounded: rich colour, tactile fabrics and a handful of statement prints, built around the kind of denim and knitwear you’ll reach for every day.

The coat that sold out — back for round two

Let’s start with the piece everyone’s talking about. The Animal Faux Fur Maxi Coat (£118) is a reworked version of the leopard coat that disappeared almost as soon as it landed last year. It’s a full maxi length with classic lapels and deep pockets, and it does what all good statement coats should: makes a plain jumper and jeans look like a decision.

Wear it over denim in daylight, over a slip or sequins after dark. If last year is anything to go by, this one won’t hang around.

Texture is the whole story

Where the summer edit was about ease, this one is about touch. Suede, faux leather, chenille, fuzzy knits and fringing all appear, and the colour palette keeps them grown-up: chocolate brown, burgundy, khaki, cream and navy, with pops of red and cobalt.

The investment piece is the N.Premium Suede Collared Bomber Jacket in khaki green (£250) — the most expensive item in the edit by some distance, and the one to buy if you want a jacket you’ll still be wearing in five autumns’ time.

For a lower-commitment hit of the same seventies mood, the Faux Fur Trim Penny Lane Faux Leather Jacket in burgundy (£88) has real swagger, and the Burgundy Suedette Fringe Midi Skirt (£62) moves beautifully and works as easily with a chunky knit as it does with a cami for evening.

The prep-school pleat

Check is everywhere this season, and the Navy/Red Check Kilt Mini Skirt (£36) is one of the best-value pieces in the collection. It has that country-weekend, Traitors-wardrobe feel that’s dominating autumn high street rails right now — style it with an oversized knit, opaque tights and chunky boots.

The knitwear to pair it with:

  • Long Sleeve High V-Neck Fuzzy Knit Jumper With Wool (£36) in ecru or grey fairisle — soft, slouchy and very cosy
  • Chenille Knit Long Sleeve Polo Jumper (£35) in brown stripe or navy colourblock — a collar that sharpens up jeans instantly
  • Long Sleeve V-Neck Rib Cardigan With Wool (£29) in red, black, cobalt blue, grey marl and lime green — the red is the one that photographs best with the kilt
  • Long Sleeve Knitted Lace Trim Cami Layer Jumper (£34) in black or blush pink — a clever two-in-one that gives you the lace-edge layering look without the faff

Denim for every day of the week

The denim is where this edit earns its keep. The Boyfriend Turnup Jeans (£35) in mid or dark blue are relaxed without being sloppy, and the Wide Leg Drawstring Jeans (£29) come in dark blue tint, dark blue and — the one to look at twice — burgundy red.

The Wide Leg Denim Jeans (£29) are the edit’s most versatile shape, available in a long run of washes and prints including chocolate brown leopard, grey leopard, burgundy and an embellished side stripe for evenings.

The building blocks

Every collection needs its unglamorous heroes. Here, it’s the Long Sleeve High V-Neck T-Shirt (£12) in white, cobalt blue, green and mauve purple — the cheapest piece in the edit and probably the most-worn by Christmas — and the Satin Lace Cami Top (£20) in black, ecru and wine, which slides under a cardigan by day and stands on its own at night.

A sneak peek at party season

Tasha’s NEXT story started with partywear, and this edit keeps one foot in that world. The Short Sleeved Sequin Top (£27) and Sequin Mini Skirt (£30), both in silver or navy, can be worn together or broken up with knitwear. There’s velvet too: the Velvet Embellished Bandeau Top (£42) and matching Velvet Embellished Mini Skirt (£40). Rounding things off are the Textured Faux Leather Mini Skirt (£26) in black or chocolate brown and the Basket Weave Faux Leather Shorts in chocolate brown (£28) — perfect with tights and a long knit.

Three ways to wear the edit

The weekend uniform — £188 Boyfriend Turnup Jeans (£35) + Brown Stripe Chenille Polo Jumper (£35) + Animal Faux Fur Maxi Coat (£118). Add trainers or loafers and you’re done.

Desk to dinner — £160 Navy/Red Check Kilt Mini (£36) + Ecru Fuzzy Knit Jumper (£36) + Burgundy Penny Lane Jacket (£88). Opaque tights and knee boots finish it.

Night out — £141 Silver Sequin Top (£27) + Black Textured Faux Leather Mini (£26) + Burgundy Penny Lane Jacket (£88). Proof that the jacket earns its price tag twice over.

Why Tasha, and why it works

Tasha Ghouri first came to national attention in 2022 as the first deaf contestant on Love Island, and has since built a career that spans modelling, dance, presenting and advocacy, reaching the Strictly Come Dancing final in 2024. Born deaf and a cochlear implant wearer since childhood, she has consistently used her platform to champion deaf awareness and disability visibility — and she was eBay’s first pre-loved ambassador, which makes her emphasis on pieces you’ll wear on repeat feel genuine rather than a marketing line.

That shows in this edit. Yes, there’s a coat built to go viral, but the backbone of the collection is £12 tees, £29 jeans and knitwear that will do several seasons’ work. That’s a sensible kind of high street collaboration.
